11 injured in bus‑truck crash on Algeria's El Jebahia descent

On Tuesday morning at around 06:05, a passenger bus collided with a semi‑trailer on the East‑West highway at the El Jebahia descent in Bouira Province, Algeria. The crash left eleven people injured, who were taken to the local hospital for treatment.

The accident highlights the long‑standing safety concerns of the 7‑kilometre “death slope,” a steep and hazardous section of the road. Algerian Highways Authority director general Saïd Si Chouaïb announced an ongoing technical‑economic study to explore long‑term safety solutions, following emergency measures implemented in 2025 that included road repairs, improved signage and engineering options for a new alignment.
