15 killed in Mamou, Guinea truck‑bus collision on RN1

At around 1–2 am on 28‑29 June 2026, a truck‑trailer collided with a passenger transport vehicle (Renault 505) on the Mamou‑Kindia axis at Diarabaka, about 7‑10 km from Mamou, Guinea, on National Road 1. Heavy rain and alleged excessive speed were reported as contributing factors.

The impact trapped the bus under the truck, killing 15 people — including women and children — and seriously injuring one. Rescue teams, authorities and medical staff transported the injured to Mamou regional hospital; the deceased were taken to the local morgue and later buried at the Poudrière cemetery. Police opened an investigation, the truck driver fled the scene, and officials expressed condolences to families.
