Guinea road crash investigations
Entities: Guinea · Sanoyah · Labé · dump truck · Mariam Bobo Diallo
Overview
Investigations into the July 2026 series of fatal crashes on Guinea’s National Road 1 and interior routes remain active. The driver involved in the Diarabaka truck‑bus collision stays in custody, with a court hearing set for 28 July. Police inquiries continue into the Kolibaya motorcycle‑truck collision, the Mali‑Conakry transport overturn, and the Mandiana motorcycle overtaking accident, focusing on speed control and overtaking practices.
On 26 July two additional serious accidents occurred. Near Conakry, a container‑laden truck struck a moto‑taxi from behind, killing the rider and a medication‑vendor passenger. Later, in the Labé urban commune, a dump truck descending a hill lost control and hit two motorcycles, killing two women, including 43‑year‑old teacher Mariam Bobo Diallo. The dump‑truck driver fled the scene, prompting further police interest.
As of the latest update, legal and police proceedings are ongoing across all incidents, and authorities are continuing to investigate causes and accountability.
