160 electric detonators recovered near Secunderabad Army firing range

Army personnel conducting a search for stolen weapons and ammunition from the 20 Madras Regiment armoury discovered 160 commercial electric detonators near a firing range in the Secunderabad Cantonment area.

The detonators, valued at approximately Rs 32,000, were found in a light-green plastic bucket containing eight bundles of 33A-size devices. The explosives were located on private land near Golf Enclave, behind the rear boundary wall of the regiment’s firing range, rather than on Army-owned property.

Following the discovery, the Bollarum police registered a case under the Explosive Substances Act. A bomb disposal squad and a sniffer dog were deployed to secure the site. Authorities are currently investigating the origin of the detonators and attempting to determine how they arrived at the location.
