1963 Documentary Shows Quiet Budva Before Tourist Boom

A short documentary film titled "Dobrodošli u Budvu" was filmed in 1963 and has resurfaced online. The footage captures a peaceful, greener Budva on Montenegro’s Adriatic coast, featuring natural stone, pine trees, and uncrowded beaches such as Mogren, Drobni pijesak, Pizana, the Old Town, and the nearby island of Sveti Stefan.

The film, directed by Đorđa Vujović with a script by Baneta Bastać and Nikša Jovićević, was originally created as a tourist brochure. Today it serves as a valuable historical record, highlighting how the town has transformed into a major, heavily developed summer destination.
