2026 Dell XPS 14 and Apple MacBook Pro 16‑inch Laptops Offer Premium Performance

Dell Technologies introduced the 2026 XPS 14, a thin all‑aluminum laptop that weighs about half a pound less than comparable 14‑inch MacBook Pros. It ships with an Intel Core Ultra X7 358H processor and an optional 2.8K OLED touchscreen that, while not as bright as Apple’s Liquid Retina XDR, delivers vivid colors. The XPS 14 matches the base‑level MacBook Pro in multi‑core benchmarks and includes integrated Intel Arc B390 graphics capable of handling demanding titles such as Cyberpunk 2077. Battery life reaches roughly 10 hours, considerably less than Apple’s 21‑hour runtime, but still sufficient for a full workday.

Apple’s 16‑inch MacBook Pro, updated for 2026, is powered by the new M4 Pro or M4 Max chips, delivering up to 24 hours of battery life and supporting up to four external displays with the M4 Max configuration. It features a 16.2‑inch Liquid Retina XDR display with up to 1,600 nits peak brightness, a 12 MP Center Stage camera, and a suite of ports including three Thunderbolt 5, MagSafe 3, HDMI and an SDXC slot. The laptop ships with up to 1 TB SSD storage, 36 GB RAM, and built‑in privacy tools such as FileVault and Find My.
