39th Plurinational Meeting of Women and LGBTQ+ groups announced in Argentina

Organizers of the 39th Plurinational Meeting of Women, Lesbians, Travestis, Trans, Bisexuals, Intersex, and Non-Binary people have announced preparatory activities for the main event, which will take place in Córdoba on October 10, 11, and 12.

A pre-meeting event is scheduled for September 26 in San Francisco at the former Mitre Railway Station. This community gathering will feature a collective mural painting, a fair with local entrepreneurs, a feminist fanzine workshop, and various musical and dance performances.

In Córdoba, a press conference and “pañuelazo” (a demonstration involving green scarves) are set for September 28 at the Museum of Anthropology. The organizers intend to use the occasion to discuss the meeting's agenda and thematic axes. The group also expressed repudiation of comments made by President Javier Milei regarding the “green scarves,” arguing that the current economic hardships are a result of government austerity and reactionary discourse rather than the movement itself.
