49-Year-Old Hiker Rescued by Helicopter in Spiazzi, Italy
A 49‑year‑old man became lost on the trail leading from the Madonna della Corona sanctuary toward Brentino Belluno on the evening of 28 July 2026. He contacted emergency services at 21:00, reporting he could not find his way out of the forest near Spiazzi.
Italian Carabinieri activated a search operation that involved the Alpine Rescue Service and the fire department. Using the coordinates supplied by the hiker, a helicopter was launched and located him shortly thereafter. Rescuers found him injured, fatigued and frightened, and escorted him to Spiazzi where he received initial medical assistance before being transferred to the hospital in Negrar for further examinations.
