65‑year‑old Italian charged with double homicide in Aigio, Greece

Greek police have charged a 65‑year‑old Italian resident of Loggos, Aigio, with the murder of his 54‑year‑old partner and her 26‑year‑old son. The victims were found on 10 June in a pool of blood after the suspect alerted a neighbour. He had previously been detained for illegal weapons possession, but investigators now consider him the main suspect.

Forensic evidence includes a knife recovered from a flowerpot, an air‑rifle that fired the son, blood‑stained clothing and the absence of any break‑in signs, which contradict the suspect's statements. The son, a music student who had been studying in Germany, had recently returned to visit his ailing mother. The investigation continues, with the suspect expected to appear before a prosecutor for the homicide charge.
