71-year-old arrested in Attica with ancient artifacts, weapons and drone

Police in Attica detained a 71‑year‑old man after raids on his workplace and residence uncovered a cache of protected antiquities and illegal weaponry. Seized items included four oxidised amphorae, fragments of vessels, three ancient coins, a helmet, a sword with its sheath, a muzzle device, nine bullets of various calibres, an underwater camera with a special case, a drone with accessories, and €500 in cash.

The suspect has been charged with violations of Greece’s cultural heritage protection law and the weapons legislation and was transferred to the competent prosecutorial authority for further proceedings.
