Giorgia Meloni remains Italy’s top political leader on social media in July

A monitoring report by Leader Trend (Arcadia & Liberi Network) shows that Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni continued to dominate Italian political communication on social platforms in July. Her accounts amassed more than 5 million likes and over 91 million video views, keeping her at the top of the like‑and‑view rankings.

Roberto Vannacci recorded the sharpest growth, with a 67 % increase and strong activity on Instagram and TikTok. Matteo Renzi re‑entered the rankings, overtaking the Five‑Star Movement leader, while Angelo Bonelli also posted solid Instagram results. Carlo Calenda was the most prolific X (formerly Twitter) user, publishing 145 posts in the month. Video reels proved the most effective format, and the Instagram podium was occupied by Meloni, Matteo Salvini and Vannacci.

The findings reflect the continued centrality of social media in Italian politics and the shifting dynamics among party leaders.
