8th Pay Commission: Employee bonus demands and consultant recruitment updates

Central government employees are demanding a significant increase in the bonus calculation limit ahead of an 8th Pay Commission meeting scheduled for August 31, 2026, in Jaipur. The National Joint Consultative Machinery (JCM) has submitted a formal request to the government to raise the monthly bonus calculation limit from ₹7,000 to ₹21,000. This demand follows a Ministry of Labour and Employment notification which set the eligibility limit for receiving a bonus at a monthly salary of ₹21,000.

Simultaneously, the 8th Central Pay Commission is concluding its recruitment process for consultant positions. The deadline for applications for roles in Human Resources, Law, and IT/Data Analysis is August 31. Selected candidates for these one-year appointments will be notified via email and must provide integrity certificates and criminal record self-declarations.
