Italy infrastructure: widespread highway and urban service disruptions

Italy is experiencing widespread infrastructure maintenance and urban service operations resulting in various traffic disruptions.

Multiple highway networks are undergoing scheduled night closures for paving, safety barrier upgrades, and signage maintenance. Key affected routes include the A1 (Anagni-Valmontone), A12 (Nervi-Recco), A14 (various sections including Val di Sangro, Vasto, and Pesaro-Fano), and the A24, which includes night closures of the Gran Sasso tunnel toward Teramo.

In urban areas, Bari's Madonnella district will see nighttime traffic restrictions to allow Amiu Puglia to sanitize and clean 204 smart waste bins. In Forlì, local police are conducting operations to remove abandoned bicycle frames to improve urban decorum. Additionally, Modena has approved new regulations for traveling shows and circuses, effective 2027, to enhance animal welfare and public space management.

Other localized disruptions include a temporary road closure in Serrenti due to a leaning telephone pole and traffic changes in preparation for the Verdi Street Parade.
