This sustained warmth has been noted to influence autumn weather patterns. Looking toward September, Rete Ferroviaria Italiana (RFI) has scheduled major upgrades. Beyond the previously noted work on the Genova-Pisa-Roma line, significant maintenance is planned for the Tyrrhenian railway line between Grosseto and Orbetello during the weekends of 5–6 and 12–13 September. This €5 million project involves replacing switches at Alberese station, upgrading signaling and electric traction, and maintaining the Osa River railway bridge. These works will suspend circulation on the Grosseto-Orbetello stretch, requiring replacement bus services. Long-distance Frecciabianca and Frecciarossa services on the Rome-Genoa route will be diverted via Florence Campo Marte, resulting in the cancellation of stops between Livorno and Civitavecchia. Further infrastructure maintenance is scheduled for mid-September. Between 14 and 18 September, nighttime closures will affect major motorways. The A1 Milano-Napoli motorway will see a closure between Chiusi Chianciano Terme and Fabro toward Rome overnight on 14–15 September.
