A Coruña train services suspended due to station construction
Train services at the A Coruña station have been suspended from November 5 until at least November 12 due to a new phase of construction on the intermodal station. This marks the fifth railway closure in the area within two years.
The works involve electrification and testing of the European Rail Traffic Management System (ERTMS). As a result, Renfe has implemented a road transport plan using buses to replace certain rail segments. Passengers traveling to Santiago de Compostela, Vigo, Ourense, and Madrid-Chamartín will use buses for the section between A Coruña and Santiago before continuing by train.
For routes toward Ferrol, Lugo, Monforte de Lemos, and Ourense via Lugo, buses will operate between A Coruña and Betanzos-Infesta, where rail connections will resume. Renfe has also announced the direct cancellation of five specific train services during this period. Travelers are advised to check schedules in advance, as Adif and Renfe warn that transfers may alter expected arrival and departure times.
