A Coruña train station to close for works in November

The A Coruña intermodal train station will undergo a scheduled closure from November 5 to November 12 due to essential infrastructure works. This marks the third major service disruption at the terminal this year, necessitated by the final stages of construction, including the replacement of the provisional platform that has hosted traffic since late 2024.

Renfe has announced an alternative transport plan to maintain mobility. Regional, Medium Distance, Avant, and High Speed trains destined for Vigo, Ourense, and Madrid-Chamartín will be replaced by bus connections between A Coruña and Santiago de Compostela. Additionally, Medium Distance services traveling via Lugo and Monforte de Lemos, as well as those heading to Ferrol, will operate by road between A Coruña and Betanzos-Infestaltos.

Passengers are advised that these road transfers will increase overall travel times. The station has recently been operating with eight tracks, an expansion beyond the original project design, to accommodate traffic during the ongoing construction phases.
