A studio Rubín announces new play exploring mental health

A studio Rubín has announced its new production, ‘Pevný bod’ (Fixed Point), scheduled to premiere on October 24, 2026. Directed by Jiří Ondra and co-written by Lucie Ferenzová, the play explores themes of mental health, anxiety, and the search for meaning in a hyper-connected world.

The narrative follows Petr, an architect struggling with depression and a sense of emptiness, who decides to undergo psychedelic-assisted therapy. To ensure authenticity, the creators consulted with Professor Jiří Horáček from the National Institute of Mental Health and drew from personal testimonies and clinical podcasts.

Rather than a documentary-style depiction of medical procedures, the production uses absurdity, humor, and poetry to portray the protagonist's internal world and altered states of perception. The project is being developed in collaboration with Kolonie z. s.
