A0 Bucharest Motorway: DN3 passage opens to traffic

The DN3 passage over the A0 motorway has officially opened to traffic. This development is part of the A0 North Lot 3 project, which is co-financed by European funds. The opening of this passage removes a significant barrier to the completion of the main A0 body at the intersection of these two roads.

Currently, traffic is moving on two lanes, with the installation of expansion joints and safety parapets for the remaining lanes expected to be finalized in the coming days. Other ongoing works include vertical and horizontal signaling, the installation of sound-absorbing panels, and testing of the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) and lighting systems.

Cristian Pistol, Director General of CNAIR, announced that an additional 13 kilometers of the Bucharest Motorway between Glina and Afumati are expected to open by the end of October. Once Lot 3 is finished, Lot 4 (Pantelimon–Glina) will also be opened. The total execution percentage for the entire construction site has exceeded 98.5%.
