A1 motorway near Kutno, Poland to restrict traffic for bridge repairs

Poland’s Generalna Dyrekcja Dróg Krajowych i Autostrad (GDDKiA) announced that starting Monday, 15 June at 07:00, the A1 highway segment between the Kutno‑East and Piątek interchanges will undergo repairs to an expansion joint on the overpass. The right‑hand lane and the emergency lane directed toward Katowice will be closed, leaving only the left‑hand (fast) lane open with a temporary speed limit of 80 km/h.

The first phase of the work is scheduled to finish on Friday, 19 June in the afternoon, after which the full width of the carriageway will be reopened for the weekend. The second phase will shift the works to the left‑hand lane from Monday, 22 June through Friday, 26 June, during which traffic will use only the right‑hand lane under the same 80 km/h restriction. Drivers are urged to exercise caution, follow signage, and consider alternative routes as delays and congestion are expected.

The road authority emphasized that cooperation from motorists is essential for safety and the smooth progress of the repairs.
