A12 highway renovation begins in Šiauliai and Kelmė districts

Via Lietuva has launched a renovation project for a 13-kilometer stretch of the A12 highway, spanning from kilometer 67.256 to 80.416. The project, located within the Šiauliai and Kelmė districts, involves an investment of 17 million euros.

The scope of work includes renewing the road surface, repairing four viaducts, and renovating a bridge over the Dubysa River that is over 50 years old. Additionally, the project will address road shoulders, the central dividing strip, intersections, and acceleration and deceleration lanes. Safety features such as traffic management tools, protective barriers, and warning posts will also be updated.

Public transport infrastructure will be improved by renovating six bus stops to ensure better accessibility and safety, particularly for people with special needs. A parking area at kilometer 76.50 is also scheduled for updates. The project is expected to be completed by November 2027.
