Elizabeth Holmes to transfer to Texas halfway house in 2027

Theranos founder Elizabeth Holmes is scheduled to transfer to the Austin Transitional Center in Del Valle, Texas, on August 23, 2027. According to the Department of Justice’s Victim Notification System, the move to this halfway house comes as Holmes approaches the end of her prison sentence. She is currently serving time at the Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas following her 2022 conviction for wire fraud and conspiracy related to defrauding investors of hundreds of millions of dollars.

While her original sentence was over 11 years, it has been reduced by approximately one year. Her current scheduled release date is February 22, 2030. The Federal Bureau of Prisons stated it does not discuss specific confinement conditions or individual release plans, noting that facility assignments depend on security levels, medical needs, and proximity to a resident's release location.

In related news, a new documentary titled ‘You Can See Everything,’ directed by Nathan Fielder and Lance Oppenheim, is set for theatrical release on October 16. The film, which was shot in 2023 shortly before Holmes reported to prison, provides an intimate look at her family life and her continued insistence that she ‘did not’ do anything wrong.
