A new 47.1-kilometer section of the A7 Motorway, known as the Moldova Motorway, has opened to traffic between Adjud and Bacău Sud. The new segment, constructed by UMB, consists of two lots: Adjud–Răcăciuni (24.5 km) and Răcăciuni–Bacău (21.5 km).

This opening allows drivers to travel from Bucharest to Bacău almost entirely on high-speed roads by combining the A3 and A7 motorways. The journey, which previously relied heavily on national road DN2, can now be completed in approximately two to three hours. Currently, the motorway connection reaches the Bacău Bypass junction, providing access to DN2F toward Vaslui. Following the completion of connection works, traffic will be extended by an additional four kilometers to the Bacău Nord junction.

The project is a major component of Romania's infrastructure development, funded through the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR). With this expansion, the total length of functional motorway and express road networks in Romania has surpassed 1,477 kilometers. Authorities noted that the financing for the A7 was successfully transitioned from a loan-based model to non-reimbursable European grants following negotiations with the European Commission.
