Aaditya Thackeray addresses Shiv Sena symbol dispute in Supreme Court

Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Aaditya Thackeray has expressed confidence that the Supreme Court will deliver justice regarding the ongoing dispute over the Shiv Sena election symbol. Speaking at a press conference, Thackeray emphasized that the resolution of this matter is vital for constitutional democracy and maintaining investor confidence in India’s legal predictability.

Thackeray argued that a robust judicial system is essential for industrial growth and job creation, noting that investors assess the predictability of law before committing to a region. He asserted that the Constitution does not permit the usurpation of a political party’s identity or symbol.

The Supreme Court, led by a bench including Chief Justice Surya Kant, recently observed that protecting constitutional democracy is a ‘collective responsibility’ while hearing a plea from the Uddhav Thackeray faction. The plea challenges a previous decision by the Election Commission regarding the party symbol.
