AAEON launches UP Xtreme PTL Edge Air mini PC
AAEON has released the UP Xtreme PTL Edge Air, a mini PC powered by Intel Panther Lake processors. The device distinguishes itself by utilizing Frore Systems’ AirJet solid-state active cooling technology, which replaces traditional fan-based cooling with ultrasonic frequency membrane vibration to generate high-speed pulsating airflow.
This cooling method allows for a more compact design, making the unit 35% slimmer and 43% lighter than the previous fan-cooled UP Xtreme PTL Edge model. The system operates at less than 21 dBA, providing a quiet and stable platform by eliminating fan-induced vibrations. These characteristics make it suitable for space-constrained and stability-sensitive applications, such as robotics, industrial controllers, medical units, and kiosks.
The hardware can be configured with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, including the Ultra X7 358H, featuring integrated Intel Arc graphics and an Intel NPU 5.0 for AI performance of up to 180 TOPs. The device supports up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM and includes dual M.2 SSD slots. While the new cooling technology reduces size and noise, it results in a 6% increase in power consumption and an operating temperature range of -10°C to 45°C.
