AAEON release of UP Xtreme PTL Edge Air Mini PC
Overview
AAEON has announced the release of the UP Xtreme PTL Edge Air, a Mini PC powered by Intel Panther Lake processors. The device utilizes Frore Systems’ AirJet solid-state active cooling technology, which employs ultrasonic-frequency membrane vibration to create high-speed pulsating airflow instead of traditional fans.
This cooling method allows the unit to be 35% thinner and 43% lighter than the previous fan-cooled UP Xtreme PTL Edge model. Operating at less than 21 dBA, the system eliminates fan-induced vibrations, making it a stable platform for precision equipment such as robotic controllers, sensors, and cameras. The hardware is designed for space-constrained environments, including kiosks, autonomous mobile robot housing, and mobile healthcare units.
The Mini PC can be configured with Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, including the Intel Core Ultra 7 358H, which features integrated Intel Arc graphics and an Intel NPU 5.0 capable of AI performance up to 180 TOPs. While the new technology reduces size and noise, it results in a 6% increase in power consumption and an operating temperature range of -10°C to 45°C. The device supports up to 128 GB of DDR5 RAM and includes dual M.2 SSD slots.
