Aarau shooting suspect surrenders after fatal rave attack

A 43-year-old Swiss man has surrendered to police in Delsberg approximately 24 hours after a fatal shooting at a rave in Aarau. The suspect, a resident of the village of Montsevelier, is accused of killing a young Italian woman during the incident.

Investigators identified the suspect through a white delivery van with Jura license plates, which had been spotted by an eyewitness. Police reported that the manhunt was highly intensive, involving over 130 interviews within the first 12 hours and more than 100 tips from the public. Federal authorities (Fedpol) initiated a national and international search and established a crisis structure in Bern.

Neighbors in Montsevelier described the man as isolated and quiet, stating they never suspected he possessed weapons. Following his surrender, police conducted a thorough search of his residence.
