Aarhus implements new leadership and suburban housing plans

Aarhus Municipality is implementing strategic changes to address urban growth and administrative needs. The Technical and Environmental Department has appointed two new management heads: Line Joel Sand will serve as the permanent head of Aarhus Properties starting September 1, and Anne Elizabeth Kamstrup will join the City and Nature department on October 1 to focus on climate, environment, and green transition.

Simultaneously, the municipality is addressing a significant housing shortage by prioritizing development in suburban areas outside the Ringvejen. Councilor for Technical and Environmental Affairs, Nicolaj Bang, stated that the strategy focuses on expanding towns such as Egå, Harlev, and Lisbjerg to provide diverse housing options, including terraced houses and single-family homes, to alleviate pressure on the city center.
