ABA League refereeing commission presents officiating analysis

Miguel Angel Perez, President of the ABA League Refereeing Commission, has presented a detailed analysis of officiating during the first four rounds of the competition. The report, based on verifiable data, aims to increase transparency and address concerns regarding refereeing quality.

To improve standards, the league has introduced a manual of officiating criteria distributed to referees, controllers, and clubs. The commission also utilizes a new technological tool for high-resolution video reproduction to facilitate more detailed reviews of disputed situations.

Management held a meeting via Zoom with representatives from all 20 clubs to discuss these measures. Perez noted that approximately 180 situations are analyzed per round, and the commission conducts weekly online meetings with referees and controllers to identify areas for improvement.
