Abadi LNG Project aims to bolster Indonesia's energy security

The Abadi LNG Project in the Masela Block, located in the Arafura Sea within Maluku waters, is positioned as a critical component for Indonesia's national energy security and economic diplomacy. The block contains natural gas reserves estimated to exceed 10 trillion cubic feet.

Following a government decision regarding the onshore processing scheme, the project aims to produce approximately 9.5 million tons of LNG per year. This development is intended to transition Indonesia from a raw material exporter to a processor that captures added value from its natural resources, potentially reshaping the gas supply and demand landscape in the Asia-Pacific region.
