ABB launches Emax3 low‑voltage switchgear for Mexican data centers

ABB announced the upcoming launch of its SACE Emax3 low‑voltage switchgear in Mexico, targeting the growing demand from data centers and advanced‑manufacturing facilities. The company said that global data‑center electricity demand is expected to quadruple by 2030, and in Mexico current consumption is about 270 MW, potentially rising to 1,500 MW by the same date.

Miguel González, leader of Electrification at ABB Mexico, highlighted the formation of a robust data‑center cluster in the country and described Emax3 as a digital, resilient solution that can ensure continuous power, advanced protection and monitoring for AI‑driven facilities. Luis Torreblanca, head of ABB’s Construction segment, reiterated the worldwide trend of rising energy needs for AI‑enabled data centers, underscoring the importance of modern switchgear to support this growth.
