ABB introduces Emax3 switchgear in Mexico

ABB announced the launch of its SACE Emax3 low‑voltage switchgear for the Mexican market, targeting the rapidly expanding demand from artificial‑intelligence‑driven data centers and advanced‑manufacturing facilities. Company officials highlighted that current power consumption in Mexican data centers is about 270 MW and could reach roughly 1,500 MW by 2030, mirroring a global trend where electricity use in data centers is expected to quadruple by that date.

ABB’s Mexican commercial leader, Miguel González, described the Emax3 as a digital, resilient solution that offers advanced protection, monitoring and real‑time supervision of critical electrical variables. Luis Torreblanca, head of ABB’s Construction segment, emphasized the need for modern switchgear to sustain continuous power and efficiency as AI‑enabled facilities grow.

The product is positioned as part of Mexico’s broader electrification push, aiming to improve energy efficiency, resilience and data‑driven decision‑making for high‑demand environments.
