Abbotsford police investigate shooting targeting vehicle linked to Ammy Virk
A vehicle linked to Punjabi singer and actor Ammy Virk’s convoy was reportedly targeted in a shooting in Abbotsford, British Columbia, on September 5. The incident occurred in the 2500 block of McCallum Road after Virk performed at a concert.
According to the Abbotsford Police Department, occupants of a dark-colored SUV fired upon the vehicle. While some reports suggested the vehicle was a bulletproof Rolls Royce Cullinan carrying the singer, police have not publicly confirmed if Virk was inside at the time. No injuries were reported.
Following the shooting, police responded to a separate report of an SUV engulfed in flames in the 2400 block of Sunnyside Place. Investigators are looking into whether the vehicle fire is connected to the shooting.
Virk’s father, Kuljit Singh, stated that the singer is safe and denied that the shooting was directed at his son’s vehicle, suggesting instead that the incident might be connected to individuals involved in organizing the show. The Major Crime Unit is investigating the matter and seeking witnesses or dashcam footage.
