Manning Park Resort proposes multi-stage expansion plan

Manning Park Resort has announced a proposed expansion plan and is seeking public feedback. The development, owned by Kevin and Donna Demers of Holiday Trails Resorts, involves a 60-year timeline to be implemented in stages.

Key components of the proposal include a 60-hectare expansion of the resort’s controlled recreation area, which would increase the existing area by 22 per cent. The plan also calls for the addition of 25 new rooms, six premium cabins, and three chalets to accommodate up to 864 overnight guests. To enhance recreation, the resort intends to add a new ski pod, new lifts, a Nordic store, a spa, and a wellness centre. These upgrades aim to increase daily skier capacity to 2,694.

Developers note that the expansion area would account for less than 0.07 per cent of the total E. C. Manning Provincial Park. Public input can be provided via an online survey from October 1 to November 30, with open houses scheduled for October 14 at Camperland RV Resort and October 17 at Manning Park Resort.
