AbbVie manages Humira revenue decline with pipeline growth

AbbVie is navigating a significant transition as biosimilar competition impacts the revenue of its blockbuster drug, Humira. While Humira generated over $20 billion at its peak, its 2025 U.S. sales fell to $6.4 billion due to market competition.

To offset this decline, the pharmaceutical company is relying on its diversified pipeline, specifically the growth of Skyrizi and Rinvoq. These next-generation immunology therapies, which treat conditions such as psoriasis, Crohn’s disease, and rheumatoid arthritis, generated a combined $17 billion in sales in 2025 and continue to see double-digit annual growth.

AbbVie’s broader portfolio includes oncology treatments like Venclexta and Imbruvica, as well as neuroscience products such as Vraylar. The company also maintains an aesthetics franchise through its 2020 acquisition of Allergan, which includes Botox.
