Abdel-Malik al-Houthi denies Saudi allegations of targeting Mecca
Abdel-Malik al-Houthi, leader of the Ansar Allah movement, has denied Saudi Arabian allegations that his group has targeted the holy city of Mecca. Describing the accusations as “lies and deception,” al-Houthi asserted that the Yemeni people hold Islamic sanctities in high regard and would defend them.
Al-Houthi accused Saudi Arabia of using the sanctity of Mecca as a political tool to justify military actions in Yemen. He further alleged that recent escalations were triggered by the bombing of Sanaa airport and accused the United States, Israel, and the United Kingdom of involvement in managing military operations against his movement.
In his address, the Houthi leader also called for the formation of an Islamic alliance to counter Israeli influence and support the Palestinian people. He criticized the lack of practical action from various Islamic nations regarding the situation in Gaza and Al-Aqsa Mosque.
