Abdulkadir Selvi Comments on Özgür Özel’s New Party Plans and Uğur Dündar’s Haluk Levent Critique

Journalist Abdulkadir Selvi reported that former CHP member Özgür Özel is expected to submit a petition to establish a new political party within the week, an move he says could split the CHP. Selvi cited poll data ranging from 38 % to 59 % support for the prospective party, suggesting it could rival the CHP in its first election.

Selvi also criticized veteran reporter Uğur Dündar for reversing his earlier public support of singer‑activist Haluk Levent and the Ahbap charity. Selvi accused Dündar of hypocrisy, noting that Dündar had previously praised Levent on live TV in 2023, but now attacks him after his arrest, questioning why Dündar “didn’t press the computer key” to reveal the truth earlier.
