Abhijeet Dipke Not Arrested, Delhi Police Refute Rumors During Parliament Protest
Social media posts claimed that Abhijeet Dipke, founder of the Cockerroach Janata Party, was taken into custody by Delhi police during the "Chalo Sansad" protest on July 20, 2026. The protest, organized by the party, demanded the resignation of education minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged NEET‑UG paper‑leak irregularities.
Delhi Police issued a statement denying the arrest, calling the reports false. Party spokesperson Saurav Das initially asserted that Dipke had been detained, but after the police clarification he posted that the claim was incorrect. The party also said its leaders met with Union Home Minister JP Nadda for ten minutes to hand over a written set of demands.
The incident highlights the spread of unverified information during politically charged demonstrations and the police’s effort to correct the narrative.
