Cockroach Janta Party to Operate as Pressure Group on Student and Public Issues, Founder Says

Founder Abhijeet Dipke said the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) will function as a pressure group rather than a political party, arguing that India currently needs such a body. In a core‑team meeting in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Maharashtra, he said the group will focus on declining public trust in institutions, ethanol‑blended fuel, rising unemployment and, most prominently, student‑related education issues.

Dipke pledged that CJP will stand with students wherever education matters arise, demanding the withdrawal of FIRs against protesters involved in recent NEET‑UG paper‑leak demonstrations. The party is also providing legal and medical assistance to injured demonstrators. The NEET agitation, which prompted the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, spread to Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Bihar, with some protests turning violent.

He emphasized that CJP’s stance is against the system, not any single political party, and that the organization will continue to support student demands and hold the government accountable.
