Abilio Brunini criticizes political persecution and MDB influence

Cuiabá Mayor Abilio Brunini (PL) has criticized the political landscape in Brazil, calling for an end to what he describes as “leftist fascism” and the restoration of democracy. During a Liberal Party press conference, Brunini accused certain sectors of the left of using the Judiciary to persecute political opponents and infringe upon freedom of expression.

Additionally, Brunini addressed the recent election results in Mato Grosso, attributing Senator Wellington Fagundes' (PL) defeat in the gubernatorial race to his political alignment with the MDB. Brunini argued that the MDB carries a negative image in the state and represents a lack of progress, noting that he had previously advised Fagundes against associating with the party.
