Abo Mbacké receives judicial dismissal in fraud investigation

A judge from the Financial Judicial Pool has issued a total dismissal (non-lieu) in the case involving businessman Abo Mbacké, president of Stam Global Business. Mbacké had previously been detained in November 2024 on charges of fraud and money laundering.

The investigation centered on allegations that Mbacké falsely claimed to be a special advisor to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman and an associate of Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko to defraud complainants, including architect Pierre Goudiaby Atépa. Following the dismissal, Mbacké has characterized the legal proceedings as a “setup” and expressed his intention to pursue legal action against those he accuses of contributing to the case.

Mbacké also defended his professional history, asserting that his long-standing business relationships with Saudi Arabia are legitimate and were targeted to damage his reputation. He noted that his connections include projects such as water supply initiatives for Touba. The dismissal marks the end of the judicial investigation without a referral to a trial court.
