Aboitiz InfraCapital invests ₱231 million in Mactan-Cebu Airport
Aboitiz InfraCapital has invested ₱231 million into upgrades at Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) over the last two years. Operating under a government Build-Operate-Transfer arrangement, the investment supports the airport's modernization and operational efficiency.
Key improvements include the implementation of CEB Connects, a system facilitating minimum connection times of 35 minutes for domestic-to-domestic transfers and 60 minutes for international-to-domestic transfers. The airport has also introduced CEB Balik, a dedicated lounge and facilitation center to assist returning overseas Filipino workers with government services.
In 2024, MCIA became the first airport in the Philippines to deploy bridge-mounted equipment and electric ground support systems. This technology allows aircraft to utilize fixed electrical power and preconditioned air while parked, reducing airline operating costs at the gate by 40 percent to 60 percent and lowering aircraft emissions.
