Abpip presents 100-day energy agenda to Brazilian presidential candidates

The Brazilian Association of Independent Oil and Gas Producers (Abpip) has presented a 100-day priority program to presidential candidates. The proposal includes nine key measures aimed at expanding national production, attracting investment, and extending the life of mature and marginal oil fields.

Key recommendations include opening the gas market, reforming environmental licensing processes, and strengthening the National Agency of Petroleum, Natural Gas and Biofuels (ANP). Abpip also advocates for the acceleration of the New Gas Law to increase competition and reduce the current infrastructure concentration held by Petrobras. To ensure long-term stability, the association suggests creating an interministerial group for licensing predictability and a permanent forum involving government, regulators, and local authorities.
