Abrantes hosts Festival ao Alto and traditional summer festivities

The municipality of Abrantes is hosting several cultural events, including the Festival ao Alto and the traditional Festas de Verão in Carreira do Mato.

Festival ao Alto will take place on September 4 and 5 at the Jardim do Alto de Santo António. The program features musical performances by Bia Caboz, NAPA, Ivo Ramad, and Gabriel, alongside street entertainment and the inaugural ‘Ténis ao Alto’ tournament. The festival is recognized as an ‘Ecoevento’, implementing sustainability measures such as waste separation and reduced plastic use.

Meanwhile, Carreira do Mato is celebrating its 93rd annual Festas de Verão from August 21 to 24. Honoring the Immaculate Heart of Mary, the four-day event includes religious services, processions, and various musical acts. The festivities also feature athletic competitions, folklore performances, and community meals.
