Abruzzimaginarium immersive park to open in L'Aquila
Abruzzimaginarium, a new immersive experiential park, is scheduled to open on September 3 at the Parco del Cinema Teatro in L'Aquila. Part of the official program for L'Aquila as the Italian Capital of Culture 2026, the project was conceived by artistic director Manuele Morgese.
The park features five interconnected geodesic domes that guide visitors through various aspects of Abruzzo's identity. These include sections dedicated to regional theatrical traditions, the history of cinema in the region, and a science dome containing a modern planetarium developed under the scientific supervision of the Gran Sasso National Laboratories (INFN).
Other attractions include a miniature scale model of Abruzzese monuments and a butterfly house focused on biodiversity, overseen by the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park. The opening week will feature various events, including Disney-themed performances, musicals, children's workshops, and live music.
