Abruzzo Region Approves 2026‑2028 Budget with Over €60 Million for Local Projects

The regional council of Abruzzo approved the assestamento of the 2026‑2028 budget, making more than €60 million available for new investments. Fratelli d’Italia group leader Massimo Verrecchia rejected criticism from Silvio Paolucci, stating that the Collegio dei Revisori only requested clarifications on a few measures and that all procedural steps were correctly followed.

Key allocations include €13 million for local public transport, €4.7 million to counter depopulation, €2.4 million for weather‑related interventions, €2 million for urban regeneration, €2 million for the regional civil‑protection agency, €3.6 million for the procurement agency, and additional financing for social, cultural and sport programmes. The budget was possible thanks to a surplus recorded after the 2025 accounts were approved without reservations by the Corte dei Conti.
