Abruzzo hosts cultural heritage and photography initiatives

The Abruzzo region is hosting several cultural initiatives focused on heritage and community engagement. At the Piacere Abruzzo event at the Fiera di Lanciano from October 2 to 4, 2026, the city of Atri will showcase its artistic and natural assets. A key highlight is the premiere of the ‘Andrea De Litio VR Experience,’ a virtual reality project that allows users to view the Renaissance frescoes in the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta in 360 degrees while they undergo restoration.

Additionally, the Museo Nazionale d’Abruzzo (MUNDA) will host the conclusion of the ‘Sguardi Plurali’ project from October 9 to 25, 2026. This festival focuses on analog photography as a tool for urban regeneration and community building. Supported by the Ministry of Culture, the initiative involves local schools and community homes to foster dialogue between urban centers and peripheral areas through workshops, exhibitions, and photographic excursions.
