Absher platform and Jordan census prepare for major 2026 milestones

The Absher electronic platform, operated by the Saudi Ministry of Interior, reported executing over 240 million electronic transactions during the first half of 2026. The data, announced at the LEAP 2026 conference, shows that the Absher Individuals platform accounted for approximately 225 million transactions, including 174 million digital document views. The Absher Business platform recorded nearly 15 million transactions. Key services included traffic management, passports, and civil affairs.

In Jordan, the Department of Statistics has completed preparations for the 2026 general population and housing census. Scheduled to begin in early October and last for one month, the census will utilize artificial intelligence and geographic information systems to collect demographic, economic, and health data. Director General Haider Freihat noted that the process will include all residents within the Kingdom. To increase efficiency, the department is utilizing technology to reduce the time researchers spend in homes, with approximately 20% of the population opting for self-enumeration via electronic forms.
