Abu Dhabi expands digital asset footprint via Coinbase and USDU integration
Abu Dhabi is strengthening its position as a global hub for digital assets through new institutional developments. Coinbase has established an international tokenization hub within the Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM), obtaining licenses to organize investments and custody tokenized securities.
In a separate development, Bitcoin.com and Universal Digital Intl Limited have announced a strategic partnership to integrate USDU, a CBUAE-registered USD stablecoin, into the Bitcoin.com product suite. USDU is issued under the regulation of the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) in the ADGM and is the first registered Foreign Payment Token under the Central Bank of the UAE’s Payment Token Services Regulation. The stablecoin is backed 1:1 by liquid USD reserves held with regulated UAE banks.
