Abu Dhabi International Book Fair opens with 1,200 exhibitors

The 35th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF) has commenced at the ADNEC Centre, running through September 18, 2026. Under the theme ‘Let’s Turn the Page and Read the World’, the event features approximately 1,200 exhibitors representing 95 countries. This year marks a significant expansion in international presence, with seven countries—including Colombia, Argentina, Peru, and Cuba—participating for the first time.

The cultural program includes nearly 1,500 events covering literature, arts, and education. The Balkan culture serves as the guest of honor, showcased through cooperation with North Macedonia. The fair also honors Al Khalil bin Ahmad al-Farahidi for his contributions to Arabic linguistics, linking his legacy to modern topics like artificial intelligence and computational linguistics.

In addition to literary showcases, the fair includes professional programs discussing the future of publishing, translation, and digital books. The Zayed Authority for People of Determination is also participating, offering interactive programs and specialized publications designed to empower individuals through knowledge and assistive technology. To support the publishing industry, participating publishers are offering a uniform 35% discount on books.
