Abu Dhabi International Book Fair 2026

The 35th edition of the Abu Dhabi International Book Fair (ADIBF), running from September 13 to 18, 2026, continues to expand its cultural and professional scope under the theme ‘Turn the Page, Read the World’.

Recent developments highlight a strong integration of technology and industry empowerment. The ‘My Story World’ initiative is utilizing artificial intelligence within the publishing sector, alongside a dedicated digital gaming sector. The Emirates Publishers Association is actively working to enhance national industry competitiveness, including signing a memorandum of understanding with ‘Miqyas Al-Dhad’ to support Arabic publishing and collaborating with the ‘PublishHer’ initiative to empower women in the field.

The fair’s programming has expanded to include the first ‘Image is Witness’ competition winners and dialogues with the 20th Sheikh Zayed Book Award laureates. To foster new talent, the event features a ‘Beginner Publishers’ pavilion and specialized sessions for authors aged 7 to 16.

Cultural exchange remains a central pillar, with North Macedonia serving as the guest of honor to showcase Balkan literature and arts. Other ongoing activities include poetry nights, the documentation of Emirati cultural figures, and the launch of new translated works through the ‘Kalima’ project. The fair continues to host approximately 1,200 exhibitors from 95 countries, including significant participation from South American and Caribbean nations.
